I do that as a matter of course for security reasons. It does lead
to one wrinkle, though. Pulse audio won't let both users play sound
at the same time so one or other (flash on the browser, me running
xmms under my own account) stalls. I don't know if this could be
relevant to Lisi.

I've yet to investigate the snags in running pulse audio at a system
level rather than as a user.
