  If I can figure out how to get it open. Plastic shell..seems to be 
just press-fit. Guess it doesn't matter...it's dead.

  That's what I noticed today..the all-in-ones are everywhere and the 
few scanner-onlys few and far between

  Yup replacing it might be a problem.
