plugged in thumb drive, which disconnected another USB drive
The other night I plugged a thumb drive into a Belkin 4-port USB hub.
This had the side effect of disconnecting an Iomega USB drive that was
plugged into the same hub.
I have since been unable to reproduce the problem, but I'm concerned
about the possibility of data loss when a drive gets disconnected like
that.
The system is running Xfce on Debian Testing.
Linux allegro 3.16.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.16.7-ckt7-1 (2015-03-01) x86_64 GNU/Linux
I've put the relevant excerpt from /dev/log/syslog below.
A couple questions:
- Do I need to have a reproducible test case before opening a bug?
- What sort of information should I gather if I see this happen again?
thanks,
mike
