Ok, consider that it touches lots of files, converting them to root:root 
owner;group.  Now the user is hosed because he cannot configure, or even 
autoconfigure himself a working x install.  It can be fixed, but its the 
equ of painting yourself into a corner with paint that takes 3 days to dry 
before it can be walked on.
