Please, I am not trying to be rude here. <cackles> but here it comes...

Is this in a desktop machine?
Can you remove the board?
If so, is there a window nearby?
Then, open the window and throw that board out. :)

Older nVidia boards, ten times as capable as that Matrox device, go for $20, or less, all day long. I had a very old 5200 running two monitors. It was shaky as merry hell, but it worked.

Didja try here?:

(this is from 2006)
...or root around in here?:

Otherwise, try apt-get install matroxset and see if that helps. Synaptic recommends several other packages as well, searching on "matrox". OR, just expect less of this video setup and live with it. If you have an older laptop with Matrox chipset video in it, I guess there isn't a lot of hope there for what you want to do, as Sven mentioned.

I have to give them credit, it seems that Matrox is now more for industrial video wall setups nowadays, big time. Good luck! :) Ric
