The problem is with finding terminals.  I often have over 60
open at once.  The task bar or whatever it is called

I'd rather it was alphabetical, to save time jumping from
one system to another.

I'm sure others have the same issue.
How is it managed?  Do you just look up and
down the list of Konsoles until you spot the hostname
you want to switch to?

The Preferences dialog for xfce4-panel's "Window Buttons" component (which implements the "task bar") has an option for controlling the sorting order, which offers the following options:

        Timestamp
        Group title and timestamp
        Window title
        Group title and window title
        None, allow drag-and-drop

(This is on a Debian jessie system; I don't have a wheezy installation handy.)

I believe either the third or fourth option would be the one you want.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I tried this before and found it sorted the apps on the Windows Buttons
(left to right), but not in the group listings (vertical list seen after clicking
on the already open app) .  Even for Iceweasel I don't see it sort within
that group of open site titles.  Using Group title and Window title.
Unless this requires a restart, but the left to right sorting there was instant.
