Well, after a little more research, I found this [1] thread quite interesting because the interface I want to use as AP uses RTL8187: ss01:~# lsusb -s 001:003 Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0bda:8187 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8187 Wireless Adapter As discussed there, it seems that the driver available in Linux not supports Master mode operation :-( My idea was to try to use that hardware included on ASUS M2N32 SLI Deluxe motherboard.
