Stardict dictionaries and sdcv is like dict but without the dictd
server. Either way, here are some links about Stardict, DICT/Stardict
conversion, and Italian dictionaries from Babylon.

Debian's dictconv package: <http://ktranslator.sourceforge.net/>
<http://owenh.net/stardict.html>
<http://www.babylon.com/free-dictionaries/languages/italian/>
<http://sourceforge.net/projects/pyglossary/>
