Does anyone know what's going on, or if I should be concerned?

I think all the errors are associated with update-grub.

My system is currently a hodge-podge as a result of earlier hardware
failure. It shipped with a SSD with Ubuntu installed; I added lots of
hard drives from the failed system; some of those drives are in a Vantec
enclosure connected by USB. I'm using lvm and luks crypto.

Thanks.
