It does also add an extra level of complexity, against which benefits
should be measured. A couple of times, I have seem grub2 fail to find
its lvm driver, and need to be beaten with a stick. Presumably, had lvm
not been in use, the problem would have shown in another way, but it is
somewhat scary when your bootloader can't even see pretty much the whole
of your drive system.
