Thanks for the feedback. I did find the package in synaptic, but an
attempt to install from there yields -
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
mtpfs : Depends: libmtp8 (>= 0.3.1) but it is not installable
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or
specify a solution).
I'm downloading the tarball of the package now to see if it can be
built. Since I do have libmtp9 on this system, hopefully I can build /
configure it with the newer lib without too much challenge. I'll update
this once I get back to that system later today.
