I can't remember which one monitors power events of the top of my head and am just heading out to a meeting......

It should give you a starting point though....I run numerous machines headless but sharing a monitor when required using the above xorg.conf settings.

*…well… plenty of Windows7 users complaining about not being able to change channels on a HDTV being used as a secondary monitor without scrambling their desktops, while MS ignores them, but that is even less help. J
