Yeah, it's cute and funny!

And you get the feeling that there are humans behind the website, and the whole project hopefully, not just dudes thinking, writing, swearing and sweating.
As opposed to microsoft -- check their website, see if they have anything for today. Did you pay anything to get jokes on April 1'st? Then you ain't getting ****!

My 2 cents -- if debian.org was in danger, then your computer, as you were visiting it would also have been because most probably links would have been changed, and scripts would be thrown at your browser.
