There's been a heck of a lot written on the problem but the essence is
that it is introducing buggy, slow M$ technology into other areas.
There is also the open question of sw patents, in the regions where they
apply.  Here is a start:

If you include the word 'trojan' with your search, you'll find more.
It's less relevant now because it seems to be slowly dying out.
