I don't know why the virtual consoles go BLANK only after about 20 seconds,

it seems to be a problem with the graphics mode && the graphics resolution.

In fact, after a very fresh Debian-Installation (Sqeeze / Wheezy anyway ...)

the virtual-console had a very, very, very tiny type face AND the graphics resolution within X (KDE) was automaticly choosen at 1600x1200 dpi.

A use a Nvidia GTX 210 card and this video mode is the highest available mode.

At this mode on my CRT-monitor this video-mode is not good to my eyes :)

so I chose another (less higher) resolution.

I did not realize the problem with the blanking virtual terminal at once !

(cause of not regularly using the virtual console).

When recognizing the problem I thought this occurs at any mode - not until after a few experiments I found out the relation between the graphic-resolution:

1600x1200 o.k. also for the tty1 - tty6

lower than 1600x1200 NOT o.k.

kindly

Herbert
