Yours is not listed (still) but being very similar to mp270 I think it 
could be just a matter of time it is added as supported. You can ask for 
the current status of this scanner at the SANE devel/user mailing list.

Ah, yes, that's what I would have expected. Remember you are using a 
Canon (-ahem- which is not a linux-friendly manufacturer -ahem-) device, 
you can consider yourself lucky that it's even working ;-)
