In the gnome applications>sytem tools>adin there used to be a gui for

Hum... it's under Activities → Applications → System tools → Users and Groups.

Greetings,

I'm stuck on fallback until either ATI sort out the crap fglrx module that is unstable with kernel
3, or I buy a nvidia graphics card, and the later is getting closer.
I maybe able to use the radeonHD module, but if installed, xorg is uninstalled.
Not sure if I can uninstall when its running and reinstall immediatly.

nasty dependency loop, and yes I know playing with sid can have strange effects :)

Buy a nvidia graphics card. I have had them for years and they are excellent and so is their support.

I just did Hugo, just setting it up now

Good show! I download the nvidia driver from their website and install that. Just upgraded to NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-290.10.run.

Interesting 1, I've been trying to get 290.10 to build and keep hitting the same problem, it wants the
kernel config files, kernel-headers are loaded, which kernel are you running ? 3.1.0 here.

hugo@HDBB:/$ uname -a
Linux HDBB 3.1.0-1-amd64 #1 SMP Mon Nov 14 08:02:25 UTC 2011 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I just install linux-headers-amd64 and that's all I need.
