Perhaps go to the link provided and read through and you will find a table of al the HVDC links, there are
plenty in all continents.
Especially for grid sharing between countries.
AC 3 phase links are unsuitable for this purpose, If the governments of the EU can not agree on measures to
halt the problems with the Euro, do you really expect them to be able to agree on the exact phase of a AC
link between countries.
You CAN NOT just connect adjacent suppliers AC system together unless the phase is matched.
