Orca questions
Hello everyone!
Is there an Orca user on here? I would have a few questions to get me
started. I've read the orca docs on gnome.org and with that a few of the basic
gnome docs, but they aren't toohelpful. So hjere are my questions:
1. Is there a nice guide to using GNOME as such efficiently? More than change
windows and call up the system menu.
2. Web borwsing. Which browser? If it's Iceweasel, how to best read the web
content. I'm afraid I'm very bad at that right now.
3. It all seems rather slow on my quad-core 3gHz 4GB Ram system, which
shouldn't be, I think. Basic ideas on that one?
4. I like to use the my braille display (PM EL40s) more, but it seems, that
speech is the first choice for getting GOOD access.
5. I'd like to be able to run my JACKd allways. espeak gets stuck, even though
in my .asoundrc I have the default device configured to pass audio to JACK.
I've tested it today to be sure, it still works nicely. It does. Is it
possible?
6. Where canI configure espeak/gnome-speech more finely than in the orca
dialogue for speech? I can't choose voices from there anymore. I might also
want to try festival at some point as well.
If one of youknows definite answers to at least a few of those, just
shout.Otherwise I suppose I must subscribe to the Orca mailinglist and manage
even more mails. :-)
Thanks and best wishes
Julien
