This is for the "hp toolbox" gui, not strictly required for printer setup.

You need to use the correct hp back-end, which starts with url like :

hp:/usb/

The printer is configured to use a foomatic filter, look if there's a
"hplip" recommended driver for the printer, together with the hp
back-end it should do the trick.

This is another story, the scanner isn't properly set up either, maybe try :
sane-find-scanner

as root and see what it says.

Have no idea what this is, maybe just related to the wrong back-end
(device "url") being used.
