O.k... let's see:

ieee1394: Initialized config rom entry `ip1394'

That seems to be "IP over IEEE 1394" module and it should not be loaded 
unless explicitly requested :-?

ieee1394: Host added: ID:BUS[0-00:1023]  GUID[00030d53255c8616]
eth1394: eth0: IEEE-1394 IPv4 over 1394 Ethernet (fw-host0)

And here you get your firewire "ethernetized" interface.

@Andrei, could it be related to this old bug?

ip1394 not needed and causing trouble
