I too have a partition for this. /dev/sda2 is labeled in my boot as
resume partiton. It doesn't matter if I use pm-hibernate or
hibernate... here's my log:

Apparently, my ess maestro3 card must be getting in the way... but it
doesn't go away if I unload the driver manually.....
