When it is ready after base freeze etc alrady mentioned here.

GRUB2 is in Debian even for lenny.  It will be in squeeze unless
somethink unthinkable happens.  You can migrate to GRUB2 in lenny.

What we do not know is if GRUB2 is "default".  Currently in testing is
seems GRUB2 is default and its maintainer said he will keep so unless he
faces major issues.

FYI: I use GRUB2 in lenny.  It was even DEFAULT for some PCs like
MacBook by lenny installers
