dependency problem

graham@dogmatix:~$ sudo apt-get upgrade

You might want to run ‘apt-get -f install’ to correct these.
The following packages have unmet dependencies.
libgdal1-dev: Depends: libhdf4-alt-dev but it is not installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try using -f.

graham@dogmatix:~$ sudo apt-get install libhdf4-alt-dev

You might want to run 'apt-get -f install' to correct these:
The following packages have unmet dependencies.
libhdf4-alt-dev: Depends: libhdf4-0-alt (= 4.2r4-6) but 4.2r4-5 is to be installed E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution).

And if I try that I get:

.........

Unpacking libhdf4-alt-dev (from .../libhdf4-alt-dev_4.2r4-6_amd64.deb) ...
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/libhdf4-alt-dev_4.2r4-6_amd64.deb (--unpack): trying to overwrite `/usr/include/hdf/linklist.h', which is also in package libhdf4g-dev
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)
Processing triggers for man-db ...
Errors were encountered while processing:
 /var/cache/apt/archives/libhdf4-alt-dev_4.2r4-6_amd64.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Any suggestions? I don't even know what these things are...

Thanks
Graham
