Start with this. There might be more dependencies, but cross that bridge when you come to it.

# apt-get install gcc libc6-dev libgdbm-dev libgdbm3 libjpeg-progs

"apt-get install build-essential" is more likely to pull in the required
packages.

I guess, since g++ depends on cpp and gcc, and you should already have most of what dpkg-dev depends on...
