In my followup to Sven I forgot to mention a third alternative:
run your own DNS cache on 127.0.0.1 setting it up to query only
known good DNS servers. /etc/resolv.conf should only contain
nameserver 127.0.0.1
let dhclientscript still fill in the domain line.
