It depends on what you use to play sound. Most applications should be using alsa directly so the alsa-oss emulation is not really necessary, it's only an additional layer on top of alsa. As to alsa-firmware-loaders, the OP mentioned his card is recognized correctly, and it's also not mentioned among the ones in the package description.
