Such as k3b having trouble burning a second > (different) CD unless you shut it down and restart it? k3b's check is a bit buggy. Try some alternative means to check the disk. On my drive it works with 'md5sum /dev/cdrom', but it seems it doesn't always work like this (there was a recent thread about it including solutions).
