Yep. The (CISC) VAX instruction set was designed partly with assemblyprogrammers in mind (and also to map closely to FORTRAN and COBOLinstructions), and the (macro, natch) assembler is designed with HLLfeatures.


The Motorola 68000 series was allegedly designed partly with C in mind.
