Nope.

                     Readability and maintainability of "assembly"
language.

Yep. The (CISC) VAX instruction set was designed partly with assembly programmers in mind (and also to map closely to FORTRAN and COBOL instructions), and the (macro, natch) assembler is designed with HLL features.
