That's USB1.1 rather than USB2 . Do you have a USB2 port on your system? 
Though for the speed of an internet connection USB1.1 might still work.

Could you please avoid that? rdnis_host pulls cdc_ether with it. But you 
don't really need it.

What do you now see on '/sbin/ifconfig -a' ?
