vncviewer messes with input focus in gnome

Hi!

I'm having problems using vncviewer (realVNC 3 or 4) in gnome. As long
as the user is working with the machine (moving the mouse, keystrokes)
everything is fine (switching fullscreen--windowed, switching between
windows is no problem). But after some time of inactivity the vncviewer
will loose mouse focus when in fullscreen mode. It becomes impossible
to quit (F8 + exit viewer). After killing it through ssh gnome is
unusable, because no application receives any input focus (mouse or
keyboard).

I can reproduce this with gnome on stable and windows or testing
realVNC servers. Has anyone had similar experiences? Is this a gnome
issue? tightVNC is no real alternative, because it doesn't support
fullscreen with gnome

Regards,

Christopher
