Seems to be the same as my problem (as described in bug #461501).

Try running 'grep AL2016W /var/log/Xorg.0.log' and see if you get 
something like:

 Output XXX using monitor section AL2016W

It will probably be the wrong output. To get it right change the 
identifier in your "Monitor" Section to the output name or so. See 
http://wiki.debian.org/XStrikeForce/HowToRandR12 for details.
