hm.. I have 2 lines, and the second one is now wrong... I just switched DSL
providers, and I no longer have bellsouth..
here's what it USED to be:
 cat /etc/hosts
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.1.1 paulandcilla.bellsouth.net

( now I commented out the 2nd line)

well, I finally got frustrated enough to retry the nvidia driver install..
ran
# export CC=gcc-4.1
# /etc/init.d/kdm stop
# sh ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86-100.14.19-pkg1.run

# /etc/init.d/kdm restart
black screen
#init 6
now it works..
I have to run this 2 or 3 times sometimes for it to work.. not sure why it
doesn't the first time, every time, but it doesnt.

so, for now everything is working.. again..

so, now I am running lenny, and nvidia breaks more often, and envy isn't
supported in lenny. If I wanted to return to the stability of etch ( where
envy is supported) is there an EASY way?? using aptitude??
