Try if your chipset works with iwpriv, in my case, I have this config:

iface eth2 inet dhcp
        pre-up iwconfig eth2 mode managed
        pre-up iwconfig eth2 essid "MYESSID"
        pre-up iwpriv eth2 set AuthMode=WPAPSK
        pre-up iwpriv eth2 set EncrypType=TKIP
        pre-up iwpriv eth2 set WPAPSK=(wpa key CODIFIED)
