Here's the entire php file in question;

<html><body>
<h1>PHP Test</h1>
<br />
<?php print "Hello World!" ?>
</body></html>

"Hello World" doesn't print.

I'm not a PHP expert (yet), but it looks to me like you're missing a semi-collin at the end of your print statement - 

<?php print "Hello World!"; ?>
