Same freeze here with ASUS P5PE and 2.6.21-2-686
I thought at first that KDE 3.5.7 was the culprit. But the system freezes even
with kdm just sittingin on the logon screen, the machine doing nothing.
Last message I got was "disabling IRQ #16" when I happenend to be on the logon
prompt of tty2. Nobody logged in, the computer being idle.
Yes, it seems to be a kernel problem.
