You may try this:
1. first configure all the settings well
2. copy all files in the user's home directory to a only-root-writable place
3. write a script that:
3.1. remove everything in the guest's home directory, except for example
a directory that they can store their own files (e.g. `~guest/data/')
3.2. copy the files that are stored in step 2 back to the user's home
directory
4. run the script that are written in step 3 whenever the settings
should be reset (e.g. when every time the system boots)
