1.  Find out what chipset is used in the USB Dongle.
2.  Check Google to see if that chipset works on Linux.

Without know what chipset is used it's unlikely anyone can tell you
what to do to get it going.

I have 2 USB wireless dongles that use the rt2x00 drivers but neither
of them are completely working, yet, with the current drivers.
