Nope, Etch will NOT have 3.0.25 in it from Debian. Etch is STABLE since
earlier this month.

BTW, Vista is a serious piece of Bovine-Scat, far worse than any
previous incarnation.

BTW, this is more a question for the Samba mailing list. Compatibility
issues like this are nearly always known, there.
