Re: Updated Sid today, xorg cannot find "nvidia" driver

(II) LoadModule: "nvidia"
(WW) Warning, couldn't load module nvidia
(II) UnloadModule: "nvidia"
(EE) Failed to load module "nvidia" (module does not exist, 0)

Ron Johnson, Jr. suggested:
/usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers

Ok, I looked there and found nvidia_drv.o

All the rest of the files are *.so

I also notice that there is no "nv" driver in that directory.

I put in a link nvidia_drv.so => nvidia_drv.o, and tried again, still no luck.

However, I did notice that the nv driver was not in that directory,
and there were a lot of other things that were (from the xfree => xorg
transition I guess) so I removed those other packages and installed
the fbdev, nv and vesa drivers. The nv driver now works, so at least
I'll be able to reply to the list from Kmail next time. :^)

Still wondering why the nvidia module isn't being detected.
