package control info rmdir of `home' didn't say not a dir: Directory not empty

Hello

 I am creating a debian package, and I am trying to install it. I am
having an issue here; dpkg says:

$ sudo dpkg -i cmake_2.5.0-1_i386.deb
tar: Removing leading `/' from member names
tar: Read 7680 bytes from -
(Reading database ... 106158 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to replace cmake 2.4.5-1~bpo.1 (using cmake_2.5.0-1_i386.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement cmake ...
dpkg: error processing cmake_2.5.0-1_i386.deb (--install):
package control info rmdir of `home' didn't say not a dir: Directory not empty
Errors were encountered while processing:
cmake_2.5.0-1_i386.deb

Can someone tell me what this message means ? Are there any tool to
test the integrity of a debian package (without doing a dpkg -i).

Thanks !
