yes, it is. i'm not a native speaker, but if i recall correctly, they have always taught us to pronouce 'etc' as 'and so on', so we didn't use the original latin words (the same applies to 'e.g.' or 'i.e.'). however, i must admit that 'and so on' sounds like a ridiculous name for a directory :)Isn't etc just short for etcetera? So wouldn't etcetera be the proper pronunciation?
by the way, i would add one more word to the list. how would one pronounce 'chroot'? like see-age-root?
