Bingo!! The extinction event resulted in "fewer ... gene/genetic characteristics".

In order to develop "high-speed, high-maneuverability ducks with armored protection on their skulls", you need the addition of new gene/genetic characteristics.

That's all I've been trying to say: an extinction event wipes out genes; it does not automatically create new ones.

... if you truly question Darwin's theory...
Doesn't anyone here learn science or economics?

Doesn't anyone here hear what I'm saying? I've never questioned Darwin's theory in this thread; I've merely said that the wiping out of genes does not automatically create new ones.
