I thikn that Joey's point is that debian-user attracts lots more newbies
than, for example, debian-devel.  I see his point.  It can be kind of
intimidating to a new user.  The flame-fests on -devel are quite obtuse,
you are right, but pretty much everyone on the -devel list falls into
the expert user category and doesn't need a tutorial on killfiles,
ignoring threads and asbestos underwear before participating.
