A program has dependecies. kivio has its. Kde is a desktop enviroment
that used qt widgets. I suspect kivio depends on those same qt widegts.

As long as you install a programs dependencies, it will work. There is
no problem installing qt widgets on a system with gtk or gnome widgets.

have you checked the bug tracking system (http://bugs.debian.org/kivio)
to see if this is a new bug? In any case, run 'kivio' at a command line
and provide us the error messages if possible.
