I am successfully running a 1600x1050 on Dell Inspiron 6400 E1505 laptop
which uses ATI Mobility Radeon X1300 as the graphics card. If necessary,
other hardware on this machine can be found at

What problems are you having with your graphics card? Did you configure
xorg.conf properly?
