Re: latex (tetex) refuses to produce dvi



Hi, have you tried out latex -output-format dvi <file>.tex?
That is skip the = sign.

I guess you have pdfetex installed and /usr/bin/latex pointing to that
(check by using which /usr/bin/latex)
