apt.conf and sources.list, defeat has come.

Sorry to say, I am giving up on this specific research project.

I have about 32 VMs created (about 25 or so deleted too). Have been
madly installing, upgrading even downgrading. With various
configurations of apt.conf and sources.list.

I scrounged up my full set of install disks for potato, woody and sarge.
I used net installs for etch and sid. I am completely whipped on this
research. It has taken 40+ hours of doing, installing, documenting,
logging, watching, recalling OLD ancient bugs, timelining everything and
sacrificing (goat blood in some cases, chicken blood in others) But I
still have not found any really consistent data to prove or disprove any
real information about how apt works with apt.conf in terms of
Default::Release. Some versions of apt recognize monikers like woody,
but not potato. Some only see testing, unstable, stable or experimental.
Some don't even recognize experimental.

For now, I need to let it ride. Perhaps sometime soon I'll continue.

Things are now hitting me hard for my time. I need to find a real job,
rather than pretend working as a consultant. Customers being 120+ days
outstanding on bills, one even 360+ days (very large billed amount).

I need consistent income. My Mortgage company likes to see payments. The
banks the car loan is with, is getting itchy. The IRS is coming to call
soon (April 15th) and last year was a loosing year for me, due to the
customers on bad faith and some rather harsh changes that came about in
July. I'll pull through, no worry there, I just need to move now. Sure,
I'll be able to mock Joss on DD some more, and post here in DU. But
projects requiring huge time are out unless someone pays me ;-P.

Sorry, for any disappointment, but "dems da brakes"
