Sorry for my ignorance but what is compiz? I run Etch amd64 (Athlon
3800+, 1 GB ram) with the nvidia driver and watch DVDs with VLC with
blended deinterlace. Great image quality an 97% idle. With the nv
driver I get poorer picture and 94% idle.
So what is it you're resigning yourself to?
